Alessandro De Luca, pianist
Alessandro
De Luca, a pupil of Lydia Assenza, Rodolfo Caporali
and Alexis Weissenberg, is one of the most
representative Italian pianists of his generation.
Ever since his precocious debut, he has performed at
the most prestigious venues both in Italy — the
Teatro
La Fenice
in Venice, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Accademia
Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and Accademia Filarmonica
Romana in Rome, Piccola Scala in Milan, Festival dei
Due Mondi in Spoleto, Sagra Musicale Umbra etc. —
and abroad, where he has played in the major European
musical centres: Paris, London, Munich, Prague,
Belgrade, Madrid, Moscow, Bern, St. Petersburg,
Bucharest etc.. He has often worked with such
celebrated conductors as Lorin Maazel, Georges Prêtre,
Yehudi Menuhin, Raphael Frühbeck de Burgos,
Gianandrea Gavazzeni, Peter Maag, Franco Mannino,
Leopold Hager,Aldo Ceccato, Roberto Abbado, and with
such orchestras as the Pittsburgh Symphony, Bavarian
Radio Orchestra, Moscow Radio and Television
Orchestra, Kiev Philharmonic, Stuttgart Radio
Orchestra ,RAi Orchestra, S. Cecilia Orchestra,etc.
During one of his tournées in
Spain
with Russian State Orchestra, he performed in
Madrid
for the King Juan Carlos and the Queen Sofia, and his
interpretation of Rachmaninoff
second Concerto was very successful.
Several
times he was guest of “ Martha Argerich Project”,in
wich he gave a recital at Lugano Festival in 2011.
He
has recorded programmes for the RAI (Italian Radio and
Television), Vatican Radio, Bavarian Radio, Moscow
Radio and Television, Spanish National Radio and the
radio and television networks of
Lithuanìa,
Georgia,
Romania
and
Yugoslavia
, and he has made recordings for the Fonit-Cetra,
Edipan, Excelsior and Polyart labels.
He also
dedicates time to teaching activities, and he holds
the chair of piano instruction at the A. Casella
Conservatory of L’Aquila.
He
is Artistical Director, in collaboration with Prof.
Pietro Bria, of the concert season “I Concerti del
Mercoledì” in the Università Cattolica del S.
Cuore in Rome.
